Meet Our Staff
Dr. Steven J. Fishman, M.D.
Dr. Steven Fishman is a Board Certified Dermatologist. He was born and raised in Liberty, New York. He graduated from Hobart College cum laude and then attended medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
In medical school, he developed a special interest in Dermatology and published the first of many dermatologic research papers. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Fishman left the New York area to do a residency in Dermatology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans.
During his residency, Dr. Fishman presented his dermatologic research to the Southern Medical Association, Society of Investigative Dermatology, and the American Academy of Dermatology. In addition, he underwent a great deal of training in dermatologic surgery and dermatologic cosmetic surgery. Dr. Fishman was formerly on the Dermatologic Surgery faculty at Beth Israel Medical Center.
Dr. Fishman is currently on staff as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Mt Sinai School of Medicine. He is on staff at Catskill Regional Medical Center. After a great deal of training in Dermatologic Surgery and Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Fishman studied under many of the pioneers and leaders of these subspecialties including William Coleman III, MD, John Yarborough, MD and Elizabeth McBurney, MD.
Dr. Fishman has studied all aspects of Dermatology but has developed a special expertise in Skin Cancer Surgery. He can evaluate all skin lesions and recommend the best method of therapy. Most dermatologic surgery is performed under local anesthesia in an ambulatory office setting. Dr. Fishman has performed well over 100,000 procedures.
Allyson Walsh, FNP
Allyson Walsh was born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Allyson attended The College of New Jersey and Rutgers University where she received two bachelor degrees in Nursing and Health and Exercise Physiology. During her time as a Registered Nurse, Allyson worked in a busy medical and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at a local trauma center. She then went on to pursue her dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner, returning to The College of New Jersey where she obtained her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. During her studies, Allyson developed a passion for skin and wound management and completed a research study on the management of Device-Related Pressure Ulcers within the ICU. Allyson graduated with honors and was inducted into the Nursing National Honors Society, Sigma Theta Tau.
Prior to joining Catskill Dermatology, Allyson honed her clinical skills working as an Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner as well as a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner at a regional medical center. Allyson is Certified by the American Academy of Family Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. Allyson can perform procedures in office and can recommend the best treatment for all of your skin, hair anddermatological needs.
Ross Zeltser, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Ross Zeltser, MD, FAAD, FACMS is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic/Mohs surgeon. He is a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from University of Rochester School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor medical society. This was followed by an internal medicine internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he was elected Outstanding Intern of the Year. He received his dermatology residency training at Boston University and Tufts Medical Centers where he was named Chief Resident.
Following residency Dr. Zeltser completed a Dermatologic and Mohs Micrographic Surgery Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center and served as a staff physician at Harvard Vanguard Dermatology Associates in Boston. He is currently a Clinical Instructor at Columbia University's Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Zeltser has performed over 5,000 Mohs surgery cases. He has authored or co-authored over a dozen research articles, medical reviews and professional society presentations on the subject of skin cancer treatment and reconstruction.
Loree Ann Stanton was born and raised in Liberty, New York. She graduated with a Regents Diploma from Liberty High School; majoring in Science and minoring in Business. She attended and graduated from Sullivan County’s first Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She then went on to pursue her degree as a Registered Nurse at Sullivan County Community College and graduated with High Honors.
She is also a certificated Histotechnologist. Loree Ann is a Study Coordinator for research groups interested in the newest biologic drugs for the treatment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. Loree Ann developed a special interest in Cosmetic Dermatology the first year in our practice and has studied many aspects of cosmetics in Dermatology and can recommend the best method of therapy for your skin, hair, and nails.
She holds certifications for the Diode and Intense Pulse Light Lasers, and has successfully finished training courses for Botox, Dysport, Blu Lite/Photodynamic therapy, and various volumizing fillers.
Christine Straessle, RN, MSN, FNP-BC
Christine Straessle, RN, MSN, FNP is a family nurse practitioner who is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Ms. Straessle earned her Master of Science in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South University in Columbia, South Carolina.
Ms. Straessle has worked as a registered nurse at Health Quest Medical Practice, PC, at the Putnam Hospital Center in the Behavioral Health Unit, North Shore University Hospital, and Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery. She also spent time as a women’s health counselor at Planned Parenthood.
Her diverse experience includes the fields of dermatology, plastic surgery, urgent care, occupational health, pediatrics, psychiatric care, surgical care, and telemetry. She also holds certifications in basic life support and non-violent crisis intervention, and is a certified electrocardiogram (EKG) technician.
